I downloaded WordPress and two themes to my iMac.
I bought a WordPress hosting package at GoDaddy.com.
I “installed” a WordPress database at GoDaddy.com.
Now I do WHAT with my wp-config-sample-php file?
I tried to look at that file, but it’s all jumbled together and I can’t read it or understand it. I tried to follow the instructions at WordPress.org exactly, but the names of things don’t exactly match. If I make these mysterious changes, THEN what the heck to I do to turn the stupid thing on.

I just don’t get it. Blogger, you log in and go. TypePad, you log in and go. Hosted WordPress, I need to write my own html code, then do what? Print it on yellow paper, and burn it under a full moon while chanting naked? This is the BEST blogging platform in the world? I don’t get it. Can I get through this, or should I just go back to TypePad? Help!

I’ve been using SI Captcha for a while and it’s really, REALLY cut down on the spam comments, but I’m noticing a problem with it.  About a month ago I was helping a friend select a captcha plugin and I told her to look for one that doesn’t erase the comment when the captcha is entered incorrectly.  Man, I HATE that.  When I spend time and lots of thought into writing a comment, I don’t want it to vanish if I enter the wrong characters in the captcha and I’m sure my visitors don’t like it either.  I’m usually pretty good about copying the comment before I do it, but sometimes I forget.

Anyhoo, back to the SI Captcha thing.  So I showed my friend what I was using and I tested it myself to make sure it doesn’t erase with comment when the captcha is incorrect.  However, recently I noticed it started erasing the comment so now I’m on the hunt for a new plugin.

She found one called “Imhuman” that displays pictures and you have to select the correct ones, but I can’t find a download page for it. 

Yes, I could download some and test them, but I don’t have the time for that at the moment.  Does anyone know of a captcha plugin that doesn’t erase the comment?

I am looking for a site or software I can make my own templates for websites. Please let me know you have any info.

Like is there a site where i can upload my templates and they will sell them i know that the seller site will probally take a cut but i still dont mind anyone know a site tho?

I’ve used Blogger before and find WordPress terribly difficult and a real challenge. I usually don’t like reading instructions cover to cover.

I’ve put up my first page, trying to load a specific theme, and it failed, appearing out-of-whack. WordPress doesn’t have any support that I’m aware of, except for a stupid forum which appears to be set up so that you can hardly find a post that you placed 10 minutes ago.

I would like to be able to become an expert at it, though – please advise.

I found a blog template I liked at

and it had a button at the right that said “download”

So I downloaded it. and now I have a folder with lots of files called .php in it.

When went to the uploading place in my blogger (blogspot.com), it said that the template should be in one .xml file

So how could I get that downloaded template onto my blog?

Then if I have the php, how can I upload it into blogger?

I am looking for Adsense ready website templates, but I do not have a lot of skills to build my own pages. I want to purchase templates from this site: WWW.ADSENSEJUICE.COM because after talking with support they claim that it is as easy as changing the adsense ID number. They claim that a site can be up in literally minutes, even with no experience. Can anyone give me their experiences with this site or others like it? Is it truly that easy? Thanks!
