A theme will not get you better rankings or traffic. There are many factors that go into getting good search engine rankings. Onsite factors (SEO) like the proper use of keywords, title tags, content and internal linking to other pages. Original content is pure gold. Offsite factors (SEM) like inbound links to pages on your site, that is, other websites linking to you. A lot of people use article marketing to get those inbound links.
