How To Modify Themes In WordPress?
Can You Answer This Question:
So a friend requested me to take a look at his website (running on wordpress) and edit his themes a bit. Now I’ve never used wordpress, but I decided to take a look at it anyways.
I am not able to see the themes files. A google search told me that I would have to connect to the server using an FTP client to see and modify the theme files.
My questions are:
1. Do I need to download and install an FTP client on my laptop to accomplish this? My guess is yes. If so, what are some of the good FTP Clients out there?
2. Do I have to install wordpress on my laptop? I’m not trying to create a new wordpress site, just tinker around with an already existing site.

You have GOT to be kidding me, right? That’s like asking a friend to hem your pants and the friend doesn’t know how to sew.
Oh wait, here’s a true story. My boyfriend wanted to wash his clothes, but didn’t know which one was the washing machine.
You can’t even figure out how to FTP and you’re gonna be tweaking on PHP and HTML on a live website? Do you even know anything about MySQL?

FileZilla http://filezilla-project.org/ is a good ftp client
and no, you don’t need to install wordpress on your laptop
in the ftp client go to /wp-content/themes/ and then the theme is in there, download a backup of the files first before you start though
