Is WordPress Good For Making Websites?
I want to make a website. (I don’t want to make a blog.) It seems like there are many great WordPress themes that look like websites. I just want an easy website with about seven pages.
WordPress seems great, but I’m still new at this and I don’t know everything. Are there any downsides to using WordPress to make a website?

WordPress is great for making websites. I’ve completely stopped building FrontPage sites. I bought Artisteer and now I make my own WordPress themes. @GeekEpic is right. WordPress works closely with the search engines to ensure that it would be SE-friendly.
Here is one of my sites created with Artisteer. It uses all pages, not posts, so I am able to take advantage of the 1-column page template Artisteer creates for me.
There isn’t a downside. Actually Matt Cutts from Google hints that WordPress is a great website platform that is very search engine friendly right out of the box. If you spend a little time tweaking it there are huge benefits.
It all really comes down to your needs. If you are looking for a basic website then WordPress is a great platform.
