When using wordpress as a commerce site how does the security work…?
as in, once you get your domain name, get your wordpress theme up and running, and get the commerce section working, how does the shopping cart work with transaction security on wordpress? do you need to purchase security certificates from ur domain host? also with wordpress how do they manage customer accounts on your site?

WordPress ecommerce is enabled and managed via one of the ecommerce Plugins such as Shopp. The security side of things (e.g. SSL/https) is provided via your payment provider (e.g. PayPal). It is usually not necessary to have your own security certificate. Customer accounts also are managed via the ecommerce Plugin you choose. I have worked with Shopp and it works very well for WordPress Online stores.
