Where Can I Find Customizable WordPress Themes?

Question:

I would like to find either a wordpress theme website or a wordpress plugin that would allow me to edit my header by replacing the default header title with my blog title without changing the code. I do not know how to read code, let alone change it so I am looking for something simple that would allow me to edit the theme from my wordpress back office. I am finding a lot of themes that I would like to use but when I upload and install them, it’s not coming up with MY blog title. I hope this makes sense. Can someone please help?? I am spending way too much time on this.

I have tried the WordPress directory but they dont have anything that I like. I would like to purchase a premium theme but I want to make sure that I will not have any problems trying to edit it or it will be a waste of money and I’ll still be in the same boat.

    If you’re looking for a theme with a customizable header, that means the theme allows you to change the header graphic. So, you can either make your own graphic, or figure out how to remove the theme’s graphic so your title displays instead.

    Here are some suggestions:

    1) Look in Dashboard > Settings to if the theme has a customizable “back office”.

    2) Look in Dashboard > Appearance and see if there is a Header setting. Some themes will envoke it.

    3) Look in Dashboard > Appearance > Themes to see if the theme has a customizable header setting in there.

    4) Some themes use an image for the header. Look in your theme’s images folder for a logo or header image like logo.gif or header.gif. Rename it to something like logo-orig.gif and see if your WordPress site title and tagline (set in Dashboard > General) displays. If not, you can always make your own graphic the same size as the logo.gif and upload it to the images folder.

    I have yet to see a WordPress theme that didn’t allow you to replace the header title: in Dashboard/Settings/General you type in "Blog Title" and "Tagline" (a bit of description) and the thing is supposed to do the substitution for you, using a line like this in header.php:

    <?php bloginfo(‘name’); ?>

    You shouldn’t have to change anything in the header.php file to pull this off; the only reason I did was to install an actual graphic in place of a text version of the name.
